Washington University is conducting research to learn about brain function throughout normal aging and in various stags of Alzheimer's disease. Criteria includes:

  • 35 to 80 years of age
  • Participants must not have a neurological or mental health illness that requires treatment
  • Must be able to undergo PET and MRI scans

There will be 1 baseline visit (approximately 7 hours) and 1 optional follow-up visit (2-1/2 to 3 years later). Study procedures include PET and MRI scans and cognitive testing. Compensation is provided for time and effort.

Psychiatric Care and Research Center is recruiting study participants from the O'Fallon, MO, area who:

  • are between the ages of 50 and 90
  • have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer's dementia
  • have moderate-to-severe agitation that interferes with daily life
  • have a reliable caregiver who is able to comply with all study procedures
