Snow Ball Gala Collage

We are thankful to our generous sponsors, volunteers and supporters who made the 2019 Snow Ball Gala such a successful event. The evening included a powerful mission moment led by President and CEO Suzanne King, some exciting announcements about new programs being launched by Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri in 2020, silent and live auctions that surpassed our fundraising goals and an opportunity to recognize and honor individuals in our community whose commitment to service have made a significant impact on mental health advocacy. Congratulations and thank you to these generous and committed individuals:

  • Longtime volunteer and board member Nat Walsh accepted the Silver Bell Award for outstanding service of more than 28 years to MHA-EM.
  • Gary Morse of Places for People was honored with the Silver Key Award for leadership in the mental health field.
  • A new award was established in 2019 in honor of longtime volunteer and mental health champion Katie Schankman, who has over the last eight years helped raise over one million dollars through the Snow Ball Gala to support vital mental health programs offered by Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri. The Katherine Schankman Volunteer Leadership Award will be presented each year to an outstanding individual who follows Schankman’s example of leadership and service.
